This extra cream should be gently rubbed into the outside of the penis.

Wash hands after touching the cream; it can be an irritant if it gets in the eyes.

An erection should form in 5 to 30 minutes, depending on stimulation.

Using Vitaros

Patients who buy Vitaros should be aware that it should not be used more than once in 24 hours, nor more than three times per week.

About 10 to 20 minutes prior to intimacy, administer one dose of Vitaros. After administration, holding the penis upright for a few minutes will help with absorption. Remaining upright---sitting or standing---will also help blood enter the penis, and stimulation will likewise help produce results if an erection does not form spontaneously. Erections last 1 to 2 hours.

Vitaros is not a spermicide, and patients should use other birth control methods to prevent pregnancy. Likewise it will not protect against STDs; a condom should be used if this is a concern. Some women find intercourse or oral sex with a man who has used Vitaros can cause irritation. In these cases a condom should also be used.

Potential Side Effects

The majority of patients use Vitaros with no adverse reactions. However, there are circumstances in which there is a greater potential for serious side effects, namely in men who have:

• Preexisting medical conditions, particularly cardiovascular issues
• A blood clotting disorder
• Hypotension (low blood pressure)
• Infection of the urethra or bladder
• Penile implants or abnormalities

Too much Vitaros can cause very serious adverse effects. In case of overdose, seek emergency medical help even if no symptoms are present.
